So, kid, what's your real name?: My name is Felicia Maria Williams. *sighs* I know it sounds all high and mighty, but I don't act that way, trust me!
Ah, that's nice. What about your newsie name?: My newsie name's Firecracker, or Fire for short. I got it when I first became a newsie in Lower Manhattan. They said it was for my bright red hair. Others said it was because I had a temper as short as a fuse on one of those Forth of July firecrackers. *blushes* However, Mush said it's because I have this fire inside me that no one else has got. *coughs a little* Okay. Next question. When's your birthday?: *laughs* Why, do you wanna buy me something since I'm such a great leader? *rolls eyes* It's December 23rd. An' this makes you how old?: That makes me almost 18. *mutters* smartass. Do you have a sweetie?: Yeah, but he's back in Lower Manhattan. Perhaps you heard of him, his name is Mush Meyers. What do you look like?: *looks herself over* Well, I'm 5'10" for starters. I've got shoulder length curly red hair. Some people really like it, but I'm just starting to get used to it now. *laughs* My eyes are three shades of brown blended into one, they're my pride and joy. I've also got freckles across my cheeks and nose. I've noticed that freckles usually make people look younger than they are, but for some reason I still look older... Since blue is my favorite color, I normally wear these blue pants, a dark blue camisole with a light blue button-down shirt layered over it, and dark blue suspenders. *laughs* I really like the alternating colors. What's your story, your past?: I was born in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey to my parents, Charles and Sarah Williams. When I was about three, my sister, Christy, who is now living somewhere under the alias of Flirt or something, was born. That's when the trouble started. What was once a happy and joyful life for me became a literal Hell on Earth. I was constantly told that I was worthless, and I truly believed it. The emotional abuse inflicted on me by my parents got so bad that I turned to the only person that seemed to understand, Aaron Reeves. He had been my best friend since we were able to walk. That was when I learned that even people you think you know better than yourself can betray you. We became a couple, and soon after we were engaged he began abusing me, too. This was far worse than anything my parents had ever done to me, however. This kind of abuse was monsterous and I got all the pain and suffering while he got a son to cart around like a trophy. I don't know what made me decide to leave, but one day I just got sick of my horrible life back in Mountain Lakes and hopped the first train to wherever it went. Less than 30 minutes later, I arrived in New York City. Alone, cold, and hungry I walked into the first place I could to seek shelter - the Lower Manhattan Lodging House. There, I met the people that changed my life forever. I learned the true beauty behind love and friendship. If things were so great, you're probably wondering why I left it all to come here. There was this guy there, he's long gone, named Midnight. He was constantly trying to get to me and I began to get more and more worried about my own personal safety. So, as soon as we heard that this lodging house was opening and a leader was needed, I came here to live. What's your personality like? How are you with others?: Well, I'm really shy towards people when I first meet them and because of this, they tend to think that I'm either anti-social or just very stuck up, which isn't the case. After a while, when I finally get used to a person, I'm loud and funny and outgoing. Also, I'll help anyone in any way I possibly can, I hate seeing other people in trouble. *shrugs* My friends say I put others before myself way too much. Where do you sell? Do you sell with anyone?: I usually sell around the park or by the train station since that's where most of the people can be found during the day. I h haven't been able to find someone to sell with me yet, but I'm always looking for a partner. Who are your friends and enemies?: I'm friends with pretty much everyone here, or at least I like to think I am. I only have one real enemy that I'm aware of, but I already told you about him. What do you like to do when you're not sellin'?: When I'm not selling? Occasionally, I take the short trip over to Lower Manhattan to spend time with my old friends, or I sit on my bunk and write stories to help pass the time. Lastly, do you have anything else you'd like to add?: *shakes her head* No, not that I can think of. I think I said pretty much all that needs to be said. Oh! If you ever need help, don't heasitate to ask me, I'm always willing to help out my fellow lodgers!
